Not a lot to report over the last couple of weeks. I have been working on weight loss to try and drop from 72kg to 70kg (optimal race weight) and a few more run sessions with Caesars Camp 100 (22-23 Oct) in mind. I did a back2back a week ago involving a one loop recce of the Brecon Beacons Ultra course with one of our Elagen team (Shaw Pye) on the first day, followed by a 6hr run/hike around the Mortimer Trail, Shropshire and Herefordshire Trails the following day. A total of 55miles of hills and high temp. I felt fine on the following day, but have endured a little core fatigue since then. I’m just about to do another recce of Caesars Camp and hopefully finally cover the official route! I wanted to try some trek poles on some of the hills with a thought to using them towards the end of the race, but have not received them yet. I’ll blog about Caesars Camp next time.
Below are a list of races and personal challenges for 2012. As you can see its very ultra orientated. I will however choose at least one long-distance triathlon in the UK, possibly Forestman.
